Question of the Week

Groundhog's Day, a tradition celebrated throughout the United States and held annually in Punxatawny, Pennsylvania, is this Friday, February 2. On this day, the famous groundhog "Punxatawny Phil" will come out of his burrow and give his prediction for the final six weeks of winter.

Around the fifth century, the European Celts believed that animals had certain supernatural powers on special days that were half-way between major solar events. Groundhog's Day is half-way between the Winter Solstice and Spring (Vernal)Equinox.

The length of daylight hours varies throughout the year. The Winter Solstice marks the day with the fewest daylight hours and the spring equinox marks the day with equal number of light and dark hours.

Choose one correct answer from the options listed below:

Groundhog's Day has.....

More hours of daylight than the Spring Equinox

Congratulations For Submitting This Weeks Question Correct!
