Question of the Week

The wood frog, a native to Pennsylvania and the only North American frog that is also found within the Arctic Circle, has a unique way of surviving the winter. Although it appears frozen solid and has no heartbeat, the wood frog creates an antifreeze agent (glucose, a simple sugar) inside its body that allows it to survive below-freezing temperatures.
