Biodiversity is the variety of species, their genetic make-up, and the natural communities in which they occur.

Biodiversity has a major impact on the economy of Pennsylvania in the form of revenue and jobs created in the state. Also, nearly 20 percent of Pennsylvanians hunt, trap, or fish, spending more than $1 billion annually in pursuit of these outdoor sports.
