what exactly is a watershed?

of land that catches precipitation and drains
into a common waterway, such as a river, lake,
wetland or into the groundwater.

|
**Area
of land that has water covering the soil
or occurring near the surface of the soil
for all or most of the year.

*** Area
that collects wastewater in urban or
other highly populated areas.
|

|
**** Area
with porous bedrock such as sandstone or granite
that is saturated with water under the earth's
surface.
