STRATEGIC VISION:

The Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education is a statewide clearinghouse for environmental information and resources, partnering with a wide variety of organizations to make environmental education relevant and valuable to the people of Pennsylvania.

MISSION:

The Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education supports environmental education across the commonwealth, linking professionals and private citizens with the tools and information necessary to achieve a healthy environment and citizenry, sustainable communities, and a green and growing economy.

GOALS:

Through partnerships, online resources, program development and research, PCEE will support and promote environmental education throughout the Commonwealth by engaging in the following activities:

1. Establish an effective online resource that makes environmental information, resources and training opportunities available to Pennsylvania’s educators and citizenry;
2. Where a need has been identified, develop EE programs and tools to support effective K-12 (formal and non-formal) education, an informed citizenry and sustainable communities;
3. Effectively promote and disseminate existing EE materials, programs and training opportunities;
4. Inventory, disseminate and generate research that supports the need for EE, assesses the public’s environmental knowledge, and evaluates the effectiveness of EE programs; and
5. Identify new and ongoing streams of financial support to fund the work of PCEE and its partners.
