The PCEE
Events Calendar

Welcome to a network of possibilities!

The Environmental Education Calendar Network harnesses the capabilities of the Internet to provide a central location for Pennsylvanians to find out what's happening in environmental education around the state. Participating organizations and agencies share data about environmental education events, providing web site visitors with one-stop-shopping for information on EE workshops, informal programs, conferences, symposia, trainings, volunteer opportunities and meetings.

Get on board and enjoy the benefits of the "information age!"
Posting an event to the EE Events Calendar Network requires only a small initial investment of time and then future entries are a snap. Background information is stored for each organization that enters a calendar event (name, address, contacts, program descriptions). Future entries take minimal effort since there is no need to re-enter this basic data. Participating organizations need only to enter the event information into the database once, and it is automatically sent to participating calendars around the state.

Training and short workshops on how to use the submission form are available from the Pennsylvania Resources Council or the Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education. Organizations wishing to participate in the calendar network, either by getting their own calendar for their Web site or by entering events into the shared database, should contact the Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education, (724) 738-9020, E-mail: info@pcee.org or the education coordinator at the Pennsylvania Resources Council, (412) 488-7438, E-mail: halk@ccicenter.org.

Find just what you are looking for with customized searches!
Want to check if there is a spring EE workshop in your region? Calendar users can do customized searches to seek out those events in which they have the greatest interest. For example, visitors can search the calendar by Pennsylvania regions, time spans, and types of events.

Join the network and get a unique calendar for your organization or agency Web site! Participating organizations can select the types of calendars they want to create for their web sites and control the level of data sharing. Web site design for the calendars is provided by EE-Link, a national/international environmental education clearinghouse.

About the Network

The EE Events Calendar Network began as a collaborative pilot project involving environmental organizations in the southwest region of Pennsylvania but is now going statewide. Start-up funding was provided by the Grable Foundation, and additional support was provided by the North American Association for Environmental Education, the Pennsylvania Resources Council, and the Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education.
