One of the most efficient and effective ways to include environmental education in formal education is through teacher preparation. The Higher Education Initiative at PCEE is dedicated to improving the quality of the environment and student academic achievement through environmental education (EE).

This multifaceted and long-term project focuses on EE inclusion in:

1) course work

2) research

3) professional development

4) funding

5) teacher preparation legislation, regulation and assessment

6) networking and constituency building
